Job Title: SQL Database Developer
Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned SQL Database Developer / Administrator with over 10 years of handson experience in managing complex database environments. This is a 100% individual contributor role ideal for someone who thrives in performancedriven teams and can independently manage endtoend database functions ranging from installation to optimization and security.
Key Responsibilities:
Install configure and upgrade Microsoft SQL Server environments.
Design develop and maintain scalable and secure database architectures.
Implement robust data backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.
Monitor and ensure high availability and performance of databases.
Manage user access controls permissions and security protocols.
Conduct regular security audits and implement preventive measures.
Ensure compliance with internal and external data protection regulations.
Analyze query performance using execution plans and optimize SQL queries.
Apply indexing strategies and database optimization techniques.
Recommend and implement improvements for resource utilization and throughput.
Investigate and resolve databaserelated issues swiftly.
Provide database expertise and technical support to developers and users.
Monitor job schedules and error logs for proactive problem resolution.
Stay updated with the latest SQL Server features and patches.
Plan and execute smooth upgrades with minimal disruption.
Maintain detailed and uptodate documentation for schemas procedures and configurations.
Standardize database processes and enforce best practices.
Collaborate with application developers to ensure optimal database designs.
Coordinate with infrastructure teams to resolve platformrelated issues.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor s or Master s Degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
Microsoft SQL Server certifications (preferred but not mandatory).
Required Skills & Expertise:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and TransactSQL (TSQL).
Strong knowledge of database structures theories principles and practices.
Solid experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
Proven track record in implementing secure and scalable database solutions.
Familiarity with tools like SSMS SQL Profiler Database Tuning Advisor etc.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Education
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
