Chief Engineer - Full-time - Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam

We are looking for an experienced Chief Engineer who ensures that our hotels maintenance planning and programs are executed smoothly. You will be responsible for the maintenance and priority planning and acts as an advisor to the General Manager you are the project leader of largescale projects (renovations equipment replacement upgrades etc.). Most importantly you will be responsible for the management and assurance of safety aspects within the hotel for our guests and employees.

Your main tasks:

• Making sure that the day to day activities of maintenance are executed smoothly;
• Manage and lead the technical department;
• Project leader of large scale projects;
• Execute manage and coordinate proposals projects and quotations;
• Manage and review maintenance budgets;
• Drawing up work schedules assigning work giving instructions on and the method of approach where necessary;
• Calling in outside firms for troubleshooting and repairs to lifts air conditioning refrigeration sprinkler system etc;
• Maintaining key data on employees and contractors;
• Managing local certificates (lift approval fire extinguishing equipment etc.);
• Mapping technical condition of facilities reviewing malfunction reports determining the nature and extent of work to be carried out scheduling overdue maintenance on the current planning/work list;
• Taking or having taken necessary safety measures ensuring availability of necessary permits etc. developing plans into a concrete project proposal in terms of time money information organization and quality;
• Maintaining environmental and energy reports drawing files malfunction reports etc;
• Setting up a preventive maintenance program within the entire building.

Qualifications :

• Completed technical education;
• Service oriented and technically skilled with a focus on quality;
• At least five years of leadership experience within a technical department preferably within a 5star hotel;
• Experience in maintenance and management in the hospitality/retail industry;
• Work under pressure is easy for you. Keeping your head cool and find the right solutions even in the most demanding situations;
• As a technicallyminded individual you have a fast understanding of various installations and maintenance work;
• You are a practical problem solver with a cando attitude and you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get to work;
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in the English language Dutch is a plus.
