Position Title:
TheMontana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a Procurement Agent. This position is responsible for processing assigned Requisitions; analyze evaluate and edit specifications to ensure compliance with MDT State and Federal policies laws and regulations; determine and execute proper procurement method and issues Purchase Orders or Contracts. Responsible for contract monitoring throughout the life of the contract. Provides technical assistance to contractors and MDT staff and provides training on procurement policies laws and regulations to various MDT staff. This position reports directly to the Procurement Supervisor and does not directly supervise others. This position is part of a career ladder with career advancement opportunities.

Level 2: Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or a related field OR 4 years of related experience.
Level 3: Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or a related field. 2 years of experience in governmental purchasing or contract administration or a related field.
Alternative combinations of related experience and education may be considered.
This agency may use a training assignment. Employees in training assignments may be paid below the base pay established by the agency pay rules. Conditions of the training assignment will be stated in writing at the time of hire.
