Job Description
Create your best future and join Westpac as a Senior OpenShift/ Kubernetes Systems Engineer.
This role focuses on managing and maintaining the OpenShift container platform including the installation configuration and upgrading of clusters. It involves monitoring cluster health and performance as well as managing networking storage access controls and security policies to ensure smooth operations.
Additionally the role provides support to application teams troubleshoots platformrelated issues and ensures robust backup recovery and disaster readiness. It also includes implementing logging monitoring and alerting mechanisms while leveraging tools like Ansible or GitOps to automate tasks and maintain the clusters overall stability scalability and security.
What do I need
- Proven experience as an OpenShift Administrator or in a similar role.
- Handson experience with container orchestration tools especially OpenShift.
- Proficiency in Linux system administration.
- Strong scripting skills (e.g. Bash Python) for automation.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with GitOps and ArgoCD would be very adventurous.
- Relevant certifications such as Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration are a plus.
- Includes oncall responsibilities on a fourweek rotating basis.
