Job Description
Entry Level Bridge Engineer
GBA is looking for an energetic Civil/Structural Engineer to join our bridge team. Our bridge team works on a wide range of projects including bridge/structural design rehabilitation bridge inspections bridge load ratings structural construction observation etc. As a bridge engineer at GBA you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects applying your structural engineering skills in a team atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
Perform bridge and structure inspections in the field (could include some travel)
Create routine inspection reports for structural deterioration
Produce structural load rating calculations
Apply structural engineering concepts and detailing techniques to design projects
Follow standard bridge engineering/design procedures
Develop structural details using specialized software such as Microstation AutoCAD or other Structural Design programs
Assist with geometric layout and quantity development
Requirements:
BS/MS in civil or structural engineering or closely related field
EIT certification
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Microstation and/or AutoCAD preferred
Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software is a plus (Conspan RCPier Merlin MDS STAAD)
Previous internship experience is a plus
Excellent work ethic
Possess effective communication skills both written and oral
Possess a positive attitude and commitment to quality
Desire to work in a collaborative team environment
Available to travel for short periods of time (approx. 3 to 5 days a month)
