Job Description
Sawmill Manager Position Republic of the Congo Africa
Skills Provision is currently seeking to appoint a Sawmill Manager for a manufacturing facility based in Congo Brazzaville (Republic of the Congo) Africa.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a blend of practical technical expertise and proven leadership ability.
Please note this opportunity is located in a remote area.
For international applicants a valid work permit will be organised.

Remuneration
- Salary: US$3500 net per month

Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 6:00am to 2:00pm
- Saturday: 6:00am to 12:00pm
- Sunday: Day off
Position Summary
The Sawmill Manager will be responsible for:
- Allocating tasks to members of the wood production team
- Maintaining preparing and repairing sawmill machinery including LBL Brenta and Cathid dryers
- Ensuring high standards of quality are upheld
- Enforcing health and safety regulations and best practices
- Managing the dispatch and shipment of finished goods
- Establishing and maintaining robust commercial relationships with clients
- Ensuring that production activities align with the organisation s financial objectives
Requirements
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of five years experience within a sawmill or a comparable industrial setting
- A diploma or recognised vocational qualification is desirable
- Prior experience as a sharpener saw filer millwright or blade technician
- Indepth knowledge of wood properties and behaviours
- Proficiency in blade preparation based on timber type and hardness
- Familiarity with the operation of modern machinery and technological systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- A basic understanding of electrical systems
- Experience in CNC machine programming
- Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A proactive and selfmotivated approach
