Job Description

Growing Chicago firm with reputation that goes back over 50 years looking to add a talented Structural Engineer to their team!


Responsibilities:

  • Preliminary/final design for steel and concrete highway/pedestrian bridge design
  • Layout/detailing of projects (prepare plans calculations and construction specifications)
  • Supervise team members and coordinate project activities
  • Coordinate bridge inspections and report preparation
  • Build/maintain client relationships assist with setting financial goals and identifying business development opportunities
  • Train/mentor junior staff


Requirements:

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Civil Engineering
  • 6 years of structural design experience
  • PE License in Illinois or Indiana
  • SE preferred
  • Proficient in MicroStation
  • Knowledge of structural analysis software
  • Geopak experience preferred
  • Experience with preparing plans for Illinois and/or Illinois Tollway projects
  • Understanding AASHTO bridge design standards
  • Finite Element Modeling preferred
  • Bridge inspection experience (including 80 hour NHI inspection course) preferred
