Job Description

As an Operational Control Analyst for the Global G&O (Palm) Platform your role is to be a key financial partner to the platform and be primarily responsible for timely reporting monitoring and analysis of the Business Results and Exposures in Global Palm business which currently includes Trading Marketing Distribution activities primarily in Singapore Malaysia Indonesia Vietnam and etc.

You are required to understand the various trade flows trading strategies and to produce commentary and margin analysis as and when required. You will be responsible for the monthly closing process and working closely with nearshore Accounting. You will also be involved in IT and Process Improvement/Efficiency projects and play an important role from a business operations perspective collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders such as Commercial team Freight Operations team Execution team Finance team IT team who may be stationed across different countries. You will actively contribute in areas such as Commercial Margin Net Interest Working Capital and Secondary Cost Analysis.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monitor and analyse the Trading Positions Daily MTM Prices Daily/Weekly P&Ls FX Exposures Cashflow Forecast for the Global Palm businesses
  • Provide commentary and analysis on Desk/Platform performance
  • Keep abreast of business strategies operations and market news to be aware of risks on business results or misconducts
  • Participate actively in the discussion of business issues and propose solutions in relation to complex financial and operational situations
  • Provide any adhoc reports and analysis upon Platform/Regions request to support business decisionmaking
  • Liaise with Nearshore Accounting/SBS team to ensure accurate monthend closing in accordance with internal deadlines and reporting requirements
  • Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders from other departments such as Commercial Freight Operations Execution Accounting Finance and IT teams
  • Propose/Champion/Participate/Collaborate with colleagues in other Departments in business process improvement initiatives or regional projects to align/streamline processes in line with LDCs Trade to Cash Principles

Experiences:

  • 23 years of experiences in Product Control/Business Analysis/Management Accounting/Audit
  • Working knowledge of Financial Markets in particular Commodity and Foreign Exchange Markets
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel SAP IMOS systems
  • Knowledge of SQL and PowerBI is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for details
  • Good business sense with high level vision
  • Ability to identify/control weaknesses and implement process improvements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills ability and willingness to interact effectively with all levels of employees & management
  • Ability to handle/prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Independent selfstarter who takes initiative and has a proactive attitude toward problems and issues
  • Flexibility on working hours during periodic closings

Academics:

  • Degree in Business/Accounting/Economics/Finance or related field of study
