Description
Rockhurst University is seeking a Nursing Assistant Professor and Clinical Director. Rockhurst is a welcoming and inclusive private Catholic Jesuit institution with a strong mission aligned with the core values of nursing. The College of Nursing is in one of two academic schools housed in Saint Lukes College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The faculty have established close relationships with many community partners enabling communitybased service learning for students and clinical practice opportunities for students and faculty. Additional details about the Nursing Program are available on the programs website: NonTenure Track Nursing Assistant Professor and Clinical Director is a member of the faculty (rank commensurate with experience) who holds an administrative appointment related to managing nursing clinical placements for undergraduate programs. Responsibilities include: classroom instruction and clinical orientation as needed daytoday program operations of clinical placement process oversight of student clinical experiences and student learning outcomes collaborating with college leadership and external clinical partners collaborating with didactic faculty and course leads to maintain and support curriculum as well as leading new clinical partnership development collaborate with simulation advisor partnering with leadership for all accreditation requirements leading MOKAN representation and hiring and assigning clinical faculty to ensure a highquality learning experience. The Director engages in professional associations businesses and the local community as necessary to promote the visibility and stature of the program(s).
Position Requirements:
- A minimum of two years successful performance in a fulltime universitylevel teaching role including prior management experience in higher education or in another organization within the program directors discipline.
- Terminal degree from a regionally accredited university required.
- Must hold an active state required nursing license and associated certification in specialty.
- Ability to read understand interpret and implement accreditation criteria and state agency regulations.
- Ability to resolve inquiries and complaints from employees students regulatory agencies or members of the academic or business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to faculty academic leaders university leaders and public groups.
- Experience with computerized administrative systems. Proficient with the use of standard office applications on personal computers.
- Effective project management skills; detail and deadline oriented.
