Position Summary:
A Lead Mobile iOS Developer develops and maintains mobile applications for external and internal customers while mentoring more junior developers to help them grow in their career. They Analyze performance of applications and troubleshoot problems. Works with teams to help design technical solutions as well as design and optimize process. Provides simplified explanations for complex topics so even nontechnical people can understand. Helps guide/lead the full systems development lifecycle of the proposed solution.
Major Responsibilities:
Lead development and help develop mobile developers. Mentor and guide them to produce well performing reliable secure flexible high quality architectures and code. Provide simplified explanations of complex technical topics.
Develop new applications/modules while support existing software development efforts and systems. Work independently with a team and selfmanage work while participating in all aspects of the Penske defined Software Development lifecycle. Provide guidance and technical direction. Help remove barriers that cause delays.
Perform code reviews and support more junior developers as well as on/offshore programmers/contractors. Provide them guidance support and mentoring. Create and help maintain standards and be an active member of the MADS (Mobile Architecture and Design Standards) team.
Analyze system/software performance. Ongoing systems monitoring and general support/maintenance of assigned applications.
Research learn and apply new technologies. Analyze software solutions based on customer requirements and recommend a viable solution that fits well for Penske.
Other projects as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required concentration in Information Technology Computer Science Mobile Development strongly preferred
Specific language certifications preferred (iOS)
7 years of experience developing mobile applications (Apple iOS) required.
9 years of experience developing applications through the full systems development lifecycle including experience with:
Creating functional/technical specifications for proposed solutions
Responsive design and adaptive development
Advanced/Expert experience in Frameworks and development tools for the mobile platform (iOS)
Web Services/SOA/Restful
Agile/Kanban
Advanced/Expert experience developing mobile applications for iOS and/or Android and relevant toolsets (IDE Source control project/bug tracking ect)
Demonstrated Advance/Expert working knowledge mobile OS and major frameworks that apply (iOS and/or Android)
Advanced/Expert understanding of Architecture both software and hardware with the ability to create flexible reusable secure well performing Architectures that can be applied elsewhere
Candidate must possess good project management and communications skills with the ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects and/or lead/mentor project teams through the full system development lifecycle ensuring sound IT
architecture and design
Ability to apply process engineering to recommend/optimize the development cycle required
Must keep up with current technologies and practices. Participate as a member of relevant mobile technology groups or organizations
Ability to research analyze and quickly learn and apply new technologies required
Work independently with members of a team. Guide the development to ensure success making sure good IT principals are followed.
Selfstarter with the ability to quickly and thoroughly learn and apply new technologies
Must be able to simplify complex technology topics so nontechnical people can understand.
Ability to work well independently with a team and selfmanage work
Successfully provide more junior associates with mentorship guidance and constructive feedback.
Work well with remote and diverse teams.
Regular predictable full attendance is an essential function of the job
