Job Summary:
Location: Methodist Estabrook Cancer CenterResponsibilities:
1. Assists in the coordination and execution of outreach events health education sessions and community screening initiatives.
2. Supports development and dissemination of culturally responsive health promotion materials.
3. Participates in community meetings coalition activities and partner engagement efforts under staff supervision.
4. Provides administrative support including data entry event tracking scheduling and internal reporting.
5. Engages with patients caregivers and community members to provide information and connect them to available programs and services.
6. Supports evaluation and quality improvement activities related to outreach impact and program delivery.
Schedule:
This is a casual position. Casual employees work on an as needed basis to meet the needs of the business. Work days/hours will often vary from week to week. Typical schedule will be between Monday Friday 8am4pm. Occasional Weekend and post 5pm hours depending on need.
Job Description:
Education
Currently enrolled in a Bachelorsor Masters level degree program in Public Health Social Work Health Education or a related field from an accredited university required.
A current Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) or Affiliation Agreement must be in place between the organization and the university required.
Experience
Community outreach public health promotion or related volunteer/internship experience preferred but not required.
Licenses/Certifications
None required.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work with diverse populations and build community trust.
Knowledge of community health principles and health disparities.
Comfortable with public speaking and facilitating group discussions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).
Bilingual skills (e.g. Spanish Arabic etc.) a plus.
