A little about our EarlyON Child and Family Centre
The Mothercraft EarlyON Child and Family Centre provides opportunities for children from birth to 6 years of age to participate in play and inquirybased programs and supports parents and caregivers in their roles. It offers safe and welcoming environments open to all families. Families and caregivers will be able to find support advice make personal connections and access a network of resources.
Job summary
As our Early Childhood Assistant you will play a crucial role in supporting the EarlyON Child and Family Centre program with its delivery of programs and services as needed. You will also provide administrative and reception support as needed. Heres a little more...
As an Early Childhood Assistantyou will
- Assist with music circles in dropin programs to promote early literacy and language development
- Provide support in program delivery with preregistered programs
- Assist with providing ageappropriate resources setting up play programs and group activities for children using a variety of methods and mediums
- Demonstrate professional character interpersonal skills and adapt to changing situations; reflecting Mothercrafts theoretical frameworks and policies in practice
- Assist participants with registration for programs services and events using KeyON
- Provide administrative support and assist with front desk coverage
- provide reception support with various duties and tasks as assigned
- Travel up to 3 different satellite locations as required
- Follow safe work procedures including reporting injuries and any unsafe conditions
This position is partially funded by Employment and Social Development Canadaand the incumbent must meet the following criteria:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- Be Canadian citizen permanent resident or have official refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada according to relevant Provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
This position may require the successful candidate to work Saturday mornings in the event that the program requires additional coverage.
You will be set up for success if youhave
- Successfully completed the 1st year of a diploma or degree program in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Experience working with families and children preferred
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite is required

- A flexible and collaborative approach to teamwork
- Strong organization skills and are detail orientated.
