This position offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement.

The Position

The ideal candidate will have a strong background handling personal injury defense litigation matters preferably including talc silicosis asbestos or related toxic tort matters. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging cases and be at the forefront of emerging legal issues with talented colleagues throughout the country.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft pleadings motions briefs legal memoranda and other legal documents
  • Attend court hearings depositions and mediations
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices contributing to a cohesive and supportive team environment
  • Independently manage a litigation caseload as part of a team working cases from beginning to end
  • Communicate with clients and provide status reports

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the state of Missouri and Illinois
  • 8 years of toxic tort litigation experience preferred
  • Asbestos talc silicosis diacetyl benzene or related toxic tort experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing an asbestos docket including overseeing discovery motion practice expert coordination and trial preparation.
  • Experience crossexamining plaintiffs and other fact witnesses preferred
  • Strong knowledge of case management procedures in highvolume litigation environments
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
