About the Department:
The Reva and Sid Dewberry Family School of Musics mission is to enable every student to find his or her best musical voice; prepare each to fulfill societys need for artistic and innovative musicians scholars music educators and ambassadors for the arts; and graduate each with hope confidence and distinction.
About the Position:
The Adjunct Applied Viola Professor will teach individualized lessons starting August 25 2025.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Applied Viola during daytime hours on campus;
- Provide leadership to Masons Viola Studio to include coordination of studio classes as well as oncampus and offcampus performances and events;
- Coordinate recruitment for the Viola Studio;
- Coordinate recitals and juries for the Viola Studio; and
- Participate in the Strings Area initiatives including performances faculty recitals auditions etc.
Required Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Music required;
- Successful experience teaching at the college level;
- Desire to work with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds; and
- Established reputation as a Violist including live performances and recordings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Music.
