Job Description
Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a highly experienced and passionate Head Guide for a prestigious luxury private wildlife reserve located in the Kalahari. This is an exciting opportunity for a seniorlevel guide who is deeply knowledgeable about the African bush conservationfocused and confident leading a guiding team in a remote and pristine wilderness setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of guides to ensure consistently exceptional guest experiences
Conduct guided game drives and walking safaris delivering insightful and engaging interpretation
Uphold the highest standards of safety and professionalism at all times
Assist with the ongoing training and development of junior guides and trackers
Maintain guide vehicles and equipment in excellent condition
Oversee guiding schedules vehicle allocations and guest activity planning
Work closely with the management team to enhance the overall guest experience and operational effectiveness
Contribute to the reserves conservation ethos and promote responsible tourism practices
Requirements:
FGASA Level 2 (minimum) with Lead Trails Guide qualification preferred
Valid ARH First Aid Level 2 and PDP
DEAT/THETA registered and legally compliant
Minimum of 5 years experience in a guiding role including at least 2 years in a senior or leadership capacity
Strong leadership communication and organisational skills
Excellent bush knowledge and a passion for guest engagement and education
Comfortable living and working in a remote offgrid environment
Professional presentable and guestfocused approach
