Lead Teacher
The Lead Teacher acts as a liaison between departmental staff and the supervisor. The Lead Teacher facilitates meetings professional development curriculum review common assessments programming and is responsible for creating and monitoring departmental budgets.
The person selected has a growth mindset and can think creatively to promote student learning and solve problems collaboratively.
REPORTING STRUCTURE: Director or Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of five years experience is preferred;
- Prior experience within the District is preferred;
- Appropriate Massachusetts teacher license from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
DUTIES:
- Serve as Liaison between Director/Supervisor and instructional staff.
- Work collaboratively with the Director/Supervisor to problem solve issues/concerns as these arise.
- Work with the Cooperative Education Coordinator and student eligibility to conduct site visits when available.
- Coordinate monthly Department/Program meetings working with the Director/Supervisor to generate agendas minutes and materials. These meetings will be documented and minutes will be submitted to the Director/Supervisor.
- Work with the Department/Program in the selection distribution and inventory of textbooks etextbooks trade books materials supplies and equipment.
- Coordinate the review and update of the Department/Program curriculum semiannually with all assigned teachers.
- Work with colleagues to coordinate and maintain the budget and to be the liaison to the business office regarding budget concerns for that Department/Program.
- Coordinate quarterly the review of common and/or standardized testing and agricultural and technical program area assessments to inform instruction.
- Coordinate and attend Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings.
- Participate in the Leadership Retreat.
- Attend Senior Awards Night and present Department/Program award(s).
- Attend monthly 2hour Lead Teacher meetings.
- Assume all additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Director/Supervisor
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
This work is performed primarily indoors. May require sitting at a desk in front of a computer screen for long periods of time walking standing stooping kneeling reaching and climbing stairs.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- This is a stipend position per HTF Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- The nature of this position requires hours beyond the contractual school day. It is expected that the person filling this position will give priority to completing the necessary tasks and set hours accordingly.
