We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Manufacturing Automation Engineer to join us at medmix Healthcare US Inc. at our new Greenfield Site located in Flowery Branch Georgia USA.
This role focuses on developing implementing and maintaining automated systems and equipment in the production of medical devices and products. The ideal candidate will have experience in automation robotics and control systems within the medical device manufacturing industry ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as FDA ISO 13485 and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Main accountabilities and tasks
- Automation Systems Design & Implementation: design implement and maintain automated manufacturing systems for medical device production lines. This includes working with robotics automated equipment PLCs SCADA vision systems and other automated technologies.
- Process Optimization: continuously monitor and improve manufacturing processes utilizing automation to enhance efficiency reduce variability and improve quality control.
- System Integration & Troubleshooting: integrate automation equipment into existing production lines. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated systems ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining system reliability. Mechanical or electrical troubleshooting of equipment.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all automation systems and processes comply with regulatory standards including FDA regulations ISO 13485 and GMP. Document design validation and testing processes for regulatory purposes.
- Collaboration with CrossFunctional Teams: work closely with engineering production quality assurance and maintenance teams to ensure the successful deployment and maintenance of automation systems. Support qualification and validation activities related to any automation that required qualification Assist in evaluation and selection of automation equipment based on production needs and costeffectiveness.
- Training & Support: Provide training to production staff on new automation systems and equipment. Offer ongoing technical support and troubleshooting as needed.
Qualifications :
Work experience: minimum 4 years of experience in automation preferably within a medical device or regulated manufacturing environment
Education: Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering industrial engineering or related field or equivalent experience. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g. Lean Six Sigma Certified Automation Professional) are a plus
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (AllenBradley Siemens etc.)
- Experience with robotics and vision systems integration (e.g. FANUC KUKA EPSON ABB Cognex Keyence)
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and industrial networks
- Familiarity with automationrelated software (e.g. AutoCAD LabVIEW etc.)
ProblemSolving Skills
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex automation systems and processes.
Communication & Teamwork
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to work effectively with crossfunctional teams.
