Job Description
AECOMs Piscataway office is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to join our Traffic Design/ITS Group. This is an exciting opportunity for an entrylevel to earlycareer engineer to work on a variety of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and lighting design projects for county state and private sector clients.
This position is expected to start June 2025.
As part of our dynamic team you will be involved in the design and oversight of projects including:
- Roadway and highway reconstruction.
- Fiber optic and wireless communications systems including network architecture conduit layouts and power distribution for ITS devices.
- Traffic signal system design including electrical wiring conduit layouts power distribution and interconnection of traffic controllers signal heads and detection systems.
- ITS infrastructure design including layout and electrical design for dynamic message signs (DMS) closedcircuit television (CCTV) cameras vehicle detection systems and roadside communication devices.
- Highway roadway and intersection lighting design including photometric analysis circuiting and electrical load calculations.
- Preparation of design plans using AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Preparation of Electrical load calculations wiring diagrams and panel schedules for traffic signal ITS and lighting systems.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong communication technical analytical and problemsolving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of relevant experience in ITS traffic signal or lighting design.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation for design work.
- EIT certification (or progress toward obtaining it) preferred.
