Position Summary:
The Facilitator (K12) will collaboratively create a systematic program for the content area in which they serve for all District educational institutions. This is a commitment in which you reapply every two years
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Work collaboratively with all District teachers to develop a 612 curriculum aligned with state standards and district expectations.
- Provide leadership for 612 programming: model best practice instruction design and delivery systems.
- Work collaboratively with all District teachers and building principals and instructional coaches to develop a feasible daily schedule for area responsible.
- Maintain current curriculum materials approved courses credit information registration guides and other important information regarding the Districts K12 programs.
- Serve as a liaison between the curriculum and instruction team and building principals teachers students and parents.
- Facilitate professional development for 612 subject areas teachers. Develop a professional plan aligned to strategic priorities organize professional development and facilitate professional development sessions.
- Structure lead and facilitate districtwide professional learning communities (PLC) in the content area.
- Engage in coaching conversations through student data and classroom observations.
- Serve as a resource for all building and District level subject matter committees.
- Organize supervise and make appropriate budgetary recommendations for all 612 subject area programs.
- Stay abreast of best practices for 612 subject areas programs.
- Develop and present reports to the Board of Education as needed.
- Perform all other responsibilities as assigned.
- Model respect and professional interactions and communications with all stakeholders.
- Work outside of contract hours as needed to perform the role as facilitator
PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Knowledge of effective instructional practices curriculum development and professional development principles.
- Ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of and consistent adherence to Board policies and procedures.
- Ability to use effective interpersonal skills necessary for the successful coordination of committees collegial groups and maintain professional productive relationships among colleagues.
- Effectively use technology for the facilitation of meetings and professional development sessions.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
The qualifications noted below are required to enable the employee to perform the essential duties/responsibilities of this position.
- Masters Degree strongly preferred but not required
- Deep and demonstrated knowledge of the content
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Superior interpersonal skills.
- Recognized as a highly effective teacher by cohorts building and District administration
