Job Description
This is a Flexible position based in our Orlando Florida office. Our Flexible work persona requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
ServiceNow is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team building highly scalable Cloud Automation software. The team is looking for a passionate developer who is searching for an exciting environment and innovative technology.
The Cloud Infrastructure Services team is focused on building a highly scalable and robust lightsout cloud orchestration services suite that enables automating various life cycle events for thousands of ServiceNow customer instances. These businesscritical automations include processes like instance provisioning instance cloning & load balancing them across the globally distributed server farms. We leverage highscale distributed computing fabric in concert with powerful orchestration logic to achieve resiliency and reliability of these automations in our Cloud.
What you get to do in this role:
- Design and develop cloud automation to support the deployment and management of ServiceNow Platform/Products in our own infrastructure as well as Public Clouds
- Work with the product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design implementation test automation and delivery of the highquality product to our users.
- Build highquality clean scalable and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews Unit testing etc.)
- Work as a member of our developer team that scales our automation to meet the needs of the future.
- Interact with other members of the infrastructure organization and the ServiceNow development teams
- Be a mentor for colleagues and help promote knowledgesharing
Qualifications :
To be successful in this role you have:
- Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes decisionmaking or problemsolving. This may include using AIpowered tools automating workflows analyzing AIdriven insights or exploring AIs potential impact on the function or industry.
- 4 years of experience designing and building scalable reusable components.
- Exceptional Java & JavaScript programming skills
- Expert skills with messaging and streaming technologies like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- Passion for software development and problemsolving
- Exceptional understanding of data structures algorithms objectoriented design and design patterns
- Experience designing & building scalable web services
- Good knowledge of Configuration Management tools like Puppet.
- Proficiency in web technologies like XML REST JSON.
- Exceptional debugging testing and problemsolving skills
- Selfstarter with quick learning curve
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Solid understanding and experience with agile software development lifecycle
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
Desired Skills
- Prior experience with development on ServiceNow Platform.
- Knowledge of cloud technology and distributed computing
- Working knowledge of Linux Internals
- Experience building ITOM (IT operations management) software
- Knowledge of scripting languages (like Perl Python and bash)
