Job Description

Job Title: Middle School Football Coach

Reports to:Building Principal/ Athletic Director

Job Summary:

The Middle School Football Coach is responsible for developing and managing all aspects of the football program for studentathletes. This includes teaching fundamental skills promoting teamwork and sportsmanship ensuring safety and fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. The coach will work closely with school staff parents and the athletic department to support student growth on and off the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan organize and conduct regular practices that focus on skill development game strategy and physical conditioning.

  • Instruct studentathletes in the rules techniques and safety of football.

  • Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes effort respect discipline and academic accountability.

  • Supervise studentathletes during all team activities including practices games travel and team meetings.

  • Collaborate with assistant coaches trainers and school staff to support student wellbeing.

  • Communicate effectively with parents administration and league officials.

  • Ensure compliance with school district and league policies including eligibility sportsmanship and safety guidelines.

  • Maintain equipment inventory and report needs or damages.

  • Promote academic achievement and good citizenship among studentathletes.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred).

  • Previous coaching or playing experience in football (middle or high school level preferred).

  • Knowledge of football rules strategies and safety practices.

  • CPR First Aid and concussion training certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Strong communication leadership and organizational skills.

  • Ability to serve as a positive role model for middle school students.

Work Schedule:

Parttime seasonal. Practices and games typically held after school and on weekends during the football season.
