AIOPS team where youll pioneer innovative solutions for predicting detecting and resolving incidents. Youll be at the vanguard of enhancing system reliability and fostering continuous improvement in a dynamic tech environment. Our team is dedicated to developing cuttingedge products within the New Relic Observability Platform ecosystem. We empower DevOps SRE and oncall team members to manage incidents swiftly and effectively by generating meaningful timely and enriched violations and notifications. Our goal is to assist our customers in maintaining low MTTR and ensuring high system availability.

What youll do

• Drive the design development and enhancement of core features and functionalities of our observability platform leveraging cuttingedge technologies to deliver scalable and reliable solutions
• Act as a subject matter expert guiding and mentoring a team of talented software engineers to achieve technical excellence and deliver highquality code
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to design and implement robust scalable and efficient systems that meet the demands of our growing customer base
• Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies constantly researching and experimenting with innovative solutions to enhance our observability platform
• Work closely with product managers designers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions advocating for best practices and promoting a collaborative work environment
• Be proactive in identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks applying optimizations and maintaining the stability availability and security of our platform
• Encourage a culture of continuous learning improvement and innovation within the engineering team sharing knowledge and promoting professional growth
• Work with a DevOps approach we build and maintain our own software including taking turns being oncall and tailoring our own oncall alert policies to prevent pagerfatigue

This role requires

• Bachelors degree software development engineering or a related technical field
• 5 years of experience working as a java software engineer with a strong computer science background and an aptitude for learning new languages quickly
• Demonstrated experience in designing developing and maintaining largescale software systems utilizing modern programming languages and frameworks
• Empathy for end users customer focused You consider how every UI API or data model change will impact our users. You will be building APIs that directly power our users experiences
• Proven ability to mentor a team of software engineers guiding them towards technical excellence and ensuring the delivery of highquality code
• Strong understanding of scalable distributed systems and microservices architecture with the ability to design and implement solutions that meet performance and scalability requirements
• Passion for exploring new technologies and finding creative solutions to complex problems keeping up with industry trends and advancements in observability and related domains
• Excellent collaboration abilities with the capacity to work effectively with crossfunctional teams present ideas and communicate technical concepts clearly
• Keep up to date with technologies AWS/Azure/GCP serverless Docker Kubernetes among others

Bonus points if you have

• Experience with GraphQL
• Terraform experience
• An understanding of how UX can be impacted by all software decisions from the db schema to backend services to GraphQL to UIs and Terraform
• Experience working with streaming systems
• Experience building and maintaining high throughput pipelines and distributed systems
• Experience working on an Observability product especially in the SaaS vendor space
