Qualifications:
- Kansas Teaching Certificate/License SPED or School Psychologist endorsement required
- Highly qualified status according to KSDE and federal regulations
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Job Goal:
Complete individual tests observations interviews record reviews and assessments as part of comprehensive special education evaluations resulting in recommendations for the provision of effective instructional programming that is based upon the identified needs and strengths of individual students in the evaluation process.
Performance and Responsibilities:
- Maintain current knowledge of special education laws and regulations and meet their requirements.
- Use a variety of relevant assessment methods both formal and informal as appropriate to the referring concerns for eligibility and educational programming of individual students.
- Work in a problemsolving manner with other staff to complete assessments and evaluations to meet established deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with staff using assessment data to recommend and plan for appropriate special education services for students based on LRE.
- Work with a variety of students with exceptionalities from all legally recognized domains.
- Produce clear and accurate written assessments results to be included in the evaluation report by the prescribed deadlines.
- Demonstrate effective skills in reading writing math and speaking as necessary for assignment.
- Demonstrate command of the subject matter for which he/she is assigned to teach/coordinate.
- Implement the districts written curriculum and the state and district assessment program.
- Demonstrate commitment to learn and apply new instructional and technology skills as related to assignment.
- Attend and participate in assigned staff/team meetings.
- Cooperate with others regarding the selection use and sharing of books equipment and other instructional materials.
- Provide professional development to support staff improvement.
- Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students.
- Establish and maintain communications with students parents colleagues and others as related to assignment.
- Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect equipment materials and facilities.
- Demonstrate respect and value for all students and staff.
- Maintain professional and ethical standards.
- Meet and instruct students/adults at designated location and times.
- Uphold and enforce school rules district policies and administrative regulations.
- Maintain state certification/licensure standards for teachers in the field for which he/she is assigned.
- Other duties as requested or assigned by the supervisor.
Critical Skills:
- Possess and maintain licensure (certification) in the state of Kansas
- Ability to strictly follow standardized assessment instructions and scoring protocols
- Ability to speak clearly and audibly to various groups expressing ideas in a logical and forthright manner
- Possess composition skills suitable for producing written communication for a variety of readers
- Ability to quickly analyze a situation and provide prompt advice
- Ability to respond to information requests in a courteous timely and helpful manner
- Ability to perform job responsibilities using appropriate software on district computer system and communication equipment
- Ability to manage job responsibilities while meeting established deadlines
- Ability to work constructively and cooperatively with others
