Job Description

About this role:

They generate proven defensible advice through our rigorous research processes leveraging a mix of quantitative and qualitative methods. This role often involves a combination of working directly with Clevel executives developing and participating on studies with teams of researchers and maintaining a consistent pipeline of publishing or presenting study findings.

This position will support executives in supply chain functions including Chief Supply Chain Officers (CSCOs) and Chief Procurement Officers (CPOs). It is focused on building a deep understanding of their biggest challenges and developing study proposals to find innovative solutions to those challenges.

What you will do:

The goal should always be to solve their challenges in a researchdriven way that cuts through ambiguous business jargon and provides advice that leads to action.
  • Use mixed methods to develop provocative and pragmatic ideas that fundamentally change and improve the way procurement operates.
  • Scope and lead studies or phases of larger studies this may include management of other researchers or participating in studies led by others.
  • Convert study findings into content for CSCOs and CPOs that is insightful intuitive and digestible.

What you will need:

  • A Bachelors degree required and a Masters/PhD in a social science preferred
  • 7 years of experience conducting primary and secondary research utilizing qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Strong business acumen and intellectual curiosity in order to process and understand information quickly as well as the ability and motivation to dive into unfamiliar or nebulous business challenges.
  • Strong writing and presentation abilities with a good sense of where the line is between technical details of the research vs. what clients need to know to act.
  • Project management experience with the ability to lead develop and mentor other members.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback on idea quality and study direction. We believe insights have to survive some stress testing and view that as necessary to the overall process.

What you will not (necessarily) need:

  • A deep background in supply chain or procurement. The broader team has many experts with experience working directly in these functions. This role is primarily for strong researchers that will bring rigorous methodology to our insights.
