Company:
The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Experienced Structural Design Engineer (Level 3) to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City Oklahoma.
A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the Bombers (B1 and/or B52) programs.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develops integrates and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design
- Develops maintains and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods to provide product definition to other engineering groups production operations suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
- Performs integrates analytical and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
- Manages supplier development test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals
- Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness quality and efficiency of the development effort
- Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
- Works under general direction
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City Oklahoma.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance PostStart is required.
BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelors Masters or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry
- 5 years of experience in mechanical and/or structural design
- 5 years of experience creating executing reviewing and managing structural design models
- 5 years of experience working conceptual preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables
- 5 years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- 5 years of experience in CAD/CAM software (CATIA V5 SolidWorks Siemens NX)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Active U.S. Secret Clearance
- Experience validating or verifying structural models
- Strong written verbal communications and presentation skills
- Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures secondary structures interior payloads
- Experience with analytical communication and problemsolving skills
