About the Role:
As a Principal Airport Engineer for Surbana Jurong Middle East you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing complex airport infrastructure design projects. You will be responsible for delivering the highest standards of engineering excellence and stakeholder / client satisfaction. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership overseeing project delivery and mentoring a multidisciplinary team of engineers. This senior position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of airport engineering strong leadership capabilities and the ability to drive innovative solutions in a fastpaced environment.
Key Responsibility:
1. Design Delivery
Lead and manage the design and delivery of airport infrastructure projects including airport masterplans & airside and landside infrastructure designs.
Collaborate with and coordinate design teams that include multidisciplinary engineers planners and technicians to ensure cohesive project delivery.
2. Project Management:
Develop project scopes budgets and schedules ensuring that all project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations.
Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for all project stages from concept design through to construction and handover.
Manage project budgets monitor financial performance and ensure projects are delivered within agreed financial targets.
Allocate and manage resources effectively ensuring the optimal utilization of personnel equipment and materials.
Proactively identify and assess project risks developing and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts on project delivery.
Ensure compliance with all health safety and environmental regulations promoting a culture of safety across all project activities.
3. Client and Stakeholder Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients maintaining strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction through effective communication and project execution.
Liaise with regulatory authorities airport operators and other key internal / external stakeholders to ensure needs capture and compliance with all relevant standards / regulations.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities contributing to business development efforts and proposal preparation.
4. Team Leadership and Mentorship:
Lead mentor and develop a highperforming team of engineers fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Provide guidance and support to project teams ensuring that technical challenges are addressed promptly and effectively.
Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across the wider Surbana Jurong team and other project participants.
5. Quality Assurance and Technical Excellence:
Lead the development of engineering designs and solutions that adhere to industry best practices regulatory requirements constructability safety and Surbana Jurong standards.
Conduct technical reviews and provide expert advice on complex engineering issues ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and integrity in all project outputs.
Champion innovation and the adoption of new technologies to enhance project efficiency and sustainability.
6. Business Development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities contributing to business development efforts and proposal preparation.
Lead the technical aspects of proposals including project understanding resource planning and technical writeups for regional airport Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
Suitable applicants will have/be:
- Educational Background: Bachelors degree in civil engineering or Aeronautical engineering. A masters degree in Airport Planning / Engineering or a related discipline is highly desirable.
- Professional Registration: Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) status is required. Membership in relevant professional bodies is an advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in design and technical management of airport engineering projects including geometric design of airside & landside utilities OLS surface studies.
- Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing complex multidisciplinary projects from inception through to completion.
