Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Lead Bartender/Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the bar staff ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining the quality and consistency of drinks served. This role requires strong leadership skills extensive bartending knowledge and a passion for creating a positive and vibrant atmosphere for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Supervision:
- Lead and supervise the bar and serving staff including bartenders and barbacks.
- Train new employees on bar procedures drink recipes and customer service standards.
- Schedule shifts and manage staff coverage to ensure efficient operation during all hours.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Customer Service:
- Ensure all members receive exceptional service and have a positive experience.
- Address and resolve customer complaints and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Foster a welcoming and friendly environment for all patrons.
- Bar Operations:
- Oversee daily bar operations including inventory management and ordering supplies.
- Ensure all drinks are prepared according to established recipes and standards.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area.
- Manage cash handling including opening and closing procedures and ensure accuracy.
- Quality Control:
- Maintain a high standard of drink quality presentation and consistency.
- Develop and update the cocktail menu incorporating new and seasonal offerings.
- Conduct regular tastings and provide training on new drinks to the bar staff.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all staff adhere to health and safety regulations including proper food and beverage handling procedures.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with alcohol serving laws and policies.
- Maintain records of bar operations including inventory sales and staff performance.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bartender and in a supervisory role.
- Extensive knowledge of drink recipes techniques and mixology trends.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and timemanagement abilities.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Proficiency in using POS systems and other bar management software.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays.
- Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g. TIPS ServSafe) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand walk and move around for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry heavy items such as kegs and cases of alcohol.
