Job Description

What a Senior Director Head of Finance does at Visa:

Serve as a member of the senior leadership team for Australia New Zealand and South Pacific markets (AUNZSP) and be their focal point for all financerelated matters.

Responsible for creating and maintaining a high standard of financial discipline controls decision support and accountability within the geography.

Be a key advisor and thought partner to the Group Country Manager and Country Manager to facilitate delivery of the shortterm financial targets as well as longterm growth targets.

Provide strong financial thought leadership as it relates to growth strategies current performance business case analysis of client incentive deals sales marketing and product initiatives as well as pricing proposals.

There are 3 key markets/subregion in AUNZSP namely Australia New Zealand and South Pacific all with growth opportunities linked to the evolution of payment innovation and technology despite maturity in the payment industry.

This role is a key business partner to the Group Country Manager AUNZSP. He/she will play a critical role as a member of AUNZSP leadership team in managing the business activities across these key markets to deliver the financial targets and the strategic development of future growth opportunities. This position will be the focal point of contact for senior management on finance related matters in the geography and will oversee all areas of Finance including FP&A the Controller Sourcing etc.

This is the most senior finance position in the AUNZSP cluster and will have influence/decision authority over FTEs expenses client incentives and revenue waiver.


    Qualifications :

    • Strong commercial acumen with an aptitude for strategic thinking.
    • Able to recognize key strategic issues opportunities and risks and develop thoughtful financial perspectives that facilitate decision making in complex uncertain and dynamic environments
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills able to effectively present and communicate financial issues and financial results across all the levels of the business from cost center managers to seniorlevel executives
    • Customer focused (internal and external) with the ability to build effective organizational relationships
    • Team player adept at building and maintaining collaborative stakeholder relationships at all levels
    • Capable of working with crossfunctional teams
    • Effective operating within a matrixmanagement structure
    • Competent in internal and operational controls to manage the local compliance for the company.
    • Leadership and management of the AuNZSP Finance team nurturing and developing talent both within the Finance function and across the wider AuNZSP. 

    Required Experiences

    The job holder should be a college graduate business degree preferred with 10 years of FP&A experience with a recognized performancedriven multinational company:

    • At least 15 years of commercial finance controllers and/or auditing experience
    • Proven commercial and analytical experience including FP&A roles in a business unit within a global organization
    • Prior experience successfully communicating with influencing and presenting to seniorlevel executives
    • Demonstrated ability to deliver on multiple initiatives with tight timelines
    • Possess good knowledge of financial controls and procedures to safeguard the assets of the company and ensure local compliance.
    • International experience ideally within a complex matrix management organization
    • Ability to attract develop and retain top talent.


    What will also help:

    • Knowledge of the payments industry in particular the credit/debit card business within a banking or eCommerce environment is highly desirable
    • Advanced Business degrees would be an advantage
