About the Position
Girton Grammar School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior School Nurse to join our School. This role is essential in ensuring the health and wellbeing of our students through providing care support and health promotion.
As the Senior School Nurse you will oversee the provision of first aid ensuring that students receive prompt and effective care in times of need. Beyond first aid you will be a trusted presence for students offering care and support when they need it most.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first aid and emergency care to students.
- Serve as a trusted and approachable presence for students seeking care and support.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate student health records.
- Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for students accessing the respite space.
- Promote health and wellness within the school community.
- Provide student health education and staff medical training.

You have the option for ongoing fulltime or parttime work across five days a week. This position is termtime only meaning 12 weeks leave during school holidays.

- Current Victorian Nurses Board Registration Registered Division 1 Nurse AHPRA registered.
- Attend 20 hours of continuing education per year as per AHPRA requirements
- Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificate;
- Level 2 First Aid Certificate;
- Working with Children Check; and
- Current drivers licence.
- A certificate in mental health Diabetes or Epilepsy would be highly regarded
Key Selection Criteria
- Must have existing work rights to work in Australia.
- Minimum of 3 years as a nurse with skills in accident and emergency management. Experience in senior nursing or management roles is highly regarded.
- Ability to work effectively with children and adolescents understanding their health needs and contemporary issues and handle physical tasks associated with first aid.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to develop professional relationships with students families and staff and liaise with health professionals senior management and teaching staff.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team with a balanced tolerant and sensitive approach.
- Efficiently manage daytoday tasks with flexibility for unscheduled interruptions and handle emergency situations and diverse student needs.
- Experience in handling and controlling medicine medical supplies and equipment
