Position Summary:
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of the Chamber of Commerce reporting directly to the Board of Directors. This leadership role is responsible for executing the Chambers mission managing daily operations and driving strategic initiatives that support the local business community and economic development efforts.
Leadership & Strategic Planning
Develop and implement strategic plans in collaboration with the Board to advance the Chambers mission and objectives.
Provide visionary leadership to staff volunteers and members fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Membership Engagement & Development
Cultivate relationships with existing and prospective members to enhance engagement and retention.
Oversee membership services ensuring valueadded programs and benefits that meet the evolving needs of the business community.
Financial Management
Prepare and manage the annual budget in coordination with the Board Treasurer.
Ensure financial sustainability through effective resource allocation fundraising and revenuegenerating activities.
Community & Public Relations
Serve as the primary spokesperson for the Chamber representing the organization at public events meetings and media engagements.
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with local government educational institutions and community organizations.
Program & Event Oversight
Plan execute and evaluate Chamber events and programs that support business development and community engagement.
Coordinate with committees and volunteers to ensure successful implementation of initiatives.
Advocacy & Economic Development
Advocate on behalf of the business community on local regional and state issues affecting commerce and economic growth.
Collaborate with economic development entities to attract and retain businesses in the region.
Bachelors degree in Business Administration Public Administration or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a Chamber of Commerce nonprofit organization or similar setting.
Proven track record in strategic planning financial management and organizational development.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
Strong understanding of economic development principles and public policy advocacy.
Proficiency in technology and software relevant to Chamber operations.
