Job Description

Position Overview

The Weston Public Schools are looking to hire a Math Interventionist for Field Elementary School (grades 45). This role is for 26.5 hours per week when school is in session (180 days with students and two professional development days over a full school year) reporting to the Building Principal. We are looking for a diverse pool of applicants who are inspired by our mission to educate equip and inspire all students to achieve their full potential and enrich their community.

About the Weston Public Schools

The Weston Public Schools enrolls approximately 2000 students in prekindergarten through grade 12. The school district includes a high school for grades 912 a middle school for grades 68 an upper elementary school for grades 45 and two lower elementary schools for prekindergarten through grade 3. Since 1967 Weston has participated in METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) a voluntary school integration program that places Boston residents in suburban schools. The Weston METCO program enrolls approximately 166 students (K12).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide targeted math interventions to small groups of elementary students
  • Complete all required documentation and data collection
  • Collaborate with teachers and curriculum specialists to identify students needs and set/monitor learning targets
  • Assist teachers in devising strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on an understanding individual student needs interests and abilities
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree
  • Teaching experience preferred ideally in a diverse public school setting
  • Experience working with math interventions
  • Competent with technology including Microsoft Office Google Suite and Zoom
Compensation and Benefits

The Math Interventionist will be paid $36.45 per hour and qualify for full benefits including subsidized health insurance and participation in the Middlesex County Retirement System.
