Caterpillars Resource Industries Electrification Solutions (RIES) team is developing key technologies to help our customers build a better more sustainable world! Our products will help shape the future of electrified mine sites around the world. As a Team Lead for Stationary Energy Transfer (SET) and Dynamic Energy Transfer (DET) you can be a part of that journey with us by providing worldclass product development of innovative solutions such as Automated Energy Transfer System (AETS) and Dynamic Energy Transfer (DET).

AETS and DET are Caterpillardeveloped systems that can autonomously transfer energy to battery and dieselelectric large mining trucks while they are working on a mine site. These systems improve operational efficiency and machine availability. The innovative AETS and DET systems provide the industry with options to support both nearterm and longterm sustainability strategies. You will have a pivotal role working with Caterpillar team members in a critical and fastpaced product development function to deliver solutions that make our customers successful with sustainable site solutions.

The Stationary Energy Transfer Team Lead SET / DET will be responsible for leading detailed design work on both electrical and mechanical systems as well as communicating interface and performance requirements and timelines to design teams to ensure system designs are completed in time to meet the program timelines. This role is part of a highpaced highperforming team working to mature productionready designs at a system level.

What you will do:

Develop project scope to address business challenges and opportunities.

Coordinating resources across sales and marketing product development groups value chain and manufacturing.

Overseeing project progress and costs; communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas; addressing and resolving problems.

Directing project staffing; motivating and developing project team and team members.

Degree Requirement: Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or a related field.

What skills you will have:

Product Design and Development: Extensive experience in product development and experience in hardware product developmentwill set you apart.Knowledge of product features; ability to design build and develop a new product technology or service from concept through to production.

Leads in designing and implementing new production and distribution methods.

Leads crossfunctional teams assembled for the purpose of product design and development.

Predicts future trends of product design and development.

Project Management:Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan organize monitor and control projects ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Manages multiple highrisk highcost projects involving multiple stakeholders.

Monitors major projects for critical path and actual status versus planned.

Consults on project planning and management of highrisk highimpact projects.

Products and Services:Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.

Oversees development activities for multiple products.

Advises colleagues on implementation and operational considerations.

Coaches others on key factors that differentiate offerings from that of competition.

Monitors regulatory and environmental issues and considerations.

Technical Excellence:Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

Advises others on the assessment and provision of all technical solutions.

Engages appropriate subject matter resources to effectively resolve technical issues.

Provides effective solutions to technical challenges through strong technical competence effectively examiningimplications of events and issues.

Assumes accountability for personal technical performance and holds others responsible for theirs.

Produces detailed functional and information requirements models and documentation.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems:Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches tools and techniques; ability to anticipate detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing or product development environment.

Evaluates business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution.

Resolves difficult or highimpact equipment and systems problems.

Monitors machine performance and history; addresses excessive maintenance or repair needs.

Applies specific techniques for isolating a problem and defining resolution approach.

Additional Information:

This position requires the candidate to work fulltime in the Mossville IL office.

Domestic relocation is available.

This position may require up to 25 % travel.

Summary Pay Range:

$144960.00 $217320.00
