Job Description:
The Senior Associate Production Planner is responsible for managing and optimizing the endtoend material planning process to ensure the ontime availability of raw materials and finished goods for all contract and noncontract material at a group of sites. The Senior Associate Production Planner supports the Production Planning & Control site master production schedule through efficient utilization of the MRP system including implementation of planning strategies and effective purchasing requisition management. This role will work closely with the Procurement organization to ensure material is proactively planned ordered received stored and issued to the manufacturing line to support the manufacturing need date master schedule attainment and customer ontime delivery. The Senior Associate Production Planner plays a vital role in maintaining optimal inventory levels minimizing costs and ensuring timely delivery of products to customers.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Responsible for optimizing material availability and supply chain efficiency through implementation of material planning strategies effective purchase requisition management and crossfunctional collaboration to ensure timely product delivery while minimizing costs and maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Effective utilization of the MRP system maintaining MRP data integrity monitoring project production schedules to ensure material alignment resolving supply chain issues and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Plans schedules coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle to meet production requirements.
- Works from engineering plans and production specifications to ensure materials are provided according to schedules.
- Advises management of the status of work in progress coordinates with manufacturing quality and supply chain and interfaces with engineering and program management as well as external customers.
- Ensures availability of materials and labor to meet production requirements and delivery commitments.
- Works to resolve labor and material shortages backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
