Job Title: HR Advisor 18 Months Fixed Term Contract

Salary/Grade:Dependent Upon Experience

Location: Peterborough (onsite)

About IPSD

Caterpillars Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine Petroleum Industrial Applications Electric Generators and Locomotives. Caterpillars company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.

Job Summary

  • We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our HR team to assist predominately with employee relations cases across our Peterborough site. This is an exciting position wellsuited to someone who is confident with all HR disciplines and who can bring an operational and solutions focused approach.

Additional Info

  • Working hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 to 17:00 with some flexibility on start and finish times.

  • This is 100% on site.

  • 18 months fixed term contract/secondment.

What You Will Do

  • Proactively manage a wide range of employee relations cases including complex disciplinary and grievances through to resolution

  • Support coach and advise first line leaders with absence performance disciplinary and grievance issues

  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and implement solutions

  • Involvement in HR projects

  • Using HR system to produce and manage reports to support leaders

  • Support the HR team with day to day admin tasks

What You Have

  • Employee Relations: Knowledge of the rights and obligations in the employee relations; ability to adhere to legal requirements when handling employee negotiations.

  • Human Resources Consulting: Knowledge of HR approaches tools and techniques; ability to inform guide and advise managers in HRrelated initiatives

  • Human Resources Operations: Knowledge of human resources (HR) policies operational processes and considerations; ability to implement HR related tasks processes and projects to ensure that daytoday operations run smoothly.

  • HR: Policies Standards and Procedures: Knowledge of human resource function; ability to uphold the organizations and industrys standards procedures and policies regarding human resources management.

  • Business Process Improvement: Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying evaluating introducing and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decisionmaking process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
