Job Description Summary:
Invesco is looking to add a New York or Los Angeles based Managing Director to its MiddleMarket Direct Lending group for an immediate start. The MiddleMarket Direct Lending Group currently operates as an independent team of eleven experienced investors within Invescos $48 billion Private Credit platform. The Group primarily focuses on directly originated private equitybacked private debt investments in middle market companies in the form of senior secured cash flowbased loans and may also invest to a lesser extent in second lien loans junior capital investments and equity investments acquired in connection with the loans. The new hire will join at a time of significant growth for the Group and individual opportunity for strong upward mobility as the Group recently launched multiple funding vehicles.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
The Direct Lending Group is seeking a Managing Director with experience in originating and providing cash flowbased financing solutions to private equity sponsored transactions across a variety of industries. The ideal candidate will possess strong relationships with private equity sponsors strong credit skills and will be expected to make meaningful contributions to all aspects of the deal process with a focus on sourcing evaluating and executing Private Debt investments. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Originate opportunities and manage all aspects of the financings for senior debt unitranche and equity or equitylike investments.
Work closely with the existing origination team to further expand our private equity relationships in the U.S.
Develop maintain and institutionalize private equity relationships including supervising and reporting material fund raising investment and portfolio activities.
Develop maintain and institutionalize relationships with investment bankers advisors direct lenders and other intermediaries.
Contribute to all aspects of the due diligence processes including screening acting as underwriting deal team captain and portfolio management.
Present investment memos and amendment requests to Investment Committee.
Negotiate and review term sheets credit agreements and associated legal documents for new transactions and amendments.
Assist with capital raising activities and special projects as needed.
Provide mentorship to junior deal team members and originators.
Work Experience / Knowledge:
12 years of work experience in a credit or private equity related role. Strong preference for direct lending private credit or equity investment experience in middle market companies.
Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:
Bachelors Degree from a top university required. Advanced Degree (CFA CPA MBA) preferred
Fluent knowledge of current market terms and competitive landscape
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical problemsolving and negotiation skills
Team player with exemplary work ethic and ability to work under pressure
Selfmotivated ability to multitask and independently manage deadlines.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office and other relevant technology tools
Travel will be required and could be up to 50% domestic.
The salary range for this position in New York and California is $250000 $300000 annually. The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills experience and location.
