$2000 SIGN ON BONUS! (External Hires Only).
Medical Assistant Wappingers Falls NY Full Time Monday Friday 8:00am 4:30pm
**Must have experience as a Medical Assistant Certified Nursing Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician.
Summary:
This position will improve the quality of care. This position will support two endocrine physicians at 4 locations.
The medical assistant will assist with returning patient calls and assist with obtaining pre auth for medication.
Assist with patient flow in the office to allow shorter wait times during visit.
Responsibilities:
- Greets and escorts patients back from waiting room to clinical areas.
- Performs all necessary intake activities and documents appropriate information including vital signs etc.
- This includes assisting patients into gowns having clinical paperwork any needed supplies and educational materials immediately available for the clinician use.
- Updates patient information in the patient record. Transposes medication history social and medical history as reported by the patient from the intake forms.
- Monitor ERx and Clinical pools. Work on medication authorization.
- Assist with coordination of further patient care and followup and carry out tasks as directed by Nurse and/or physician/practice administrator. This may include communication with patient hospital labs imaging centers pharmacies physician offices insurance plans.
- Monitors inventory and orders medical supplies as needed as well as follow up on all outstanding orders.
- Maintain and Model Nuvance Health Foundational Values (Personal Imaginative Agile Connected).
- Performs other duties as required.
