Primary ObjectivesThe Assistant DirectorRecreation is an important leadership role that is responsible for planning developing coordinating and supervising all activities/services offered to patrons by the Recreation Department. The Assistant DirectorRecreation works closely with surrounding communities to establish leagues activities and events for the area. This job description is not an allinclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of this position. PCI Employees are expected to perform all duties and responsibilities necessary to meet the goals and objectives of applicable programs and departmental objectives as assigned.

Essential Functions- Responsible for all services and activities provided by the Recreation Department. Ensures services and staff levels are appropriate during all events leagues and activities.
- Assists with the directing and monitoring of approved expenditures and implements approved adjustments when needed.
- Serves as the liaison for the Recreation Department with other departments leagues and outside agencies.
- Promotes activities and programs in the community (personal contact social media newsletters etc.). Distribute appropriate information to the community.
- Responsible for coordination and supervising volunteer personnel during the appropriate activities.
- Responsible for obtaining waivers from participants engaging in activities and then forward information to appropriate departments.
- Responsible for organizing and developing short/long term goals regarding the overall operation of the Recreation Department to appropriate staff.
- Develops and implements the goals and objectives of all assigned programs.
- Monitors and evaluates the programs and services being offered. Makes recommendations to improve services and works with DirectorRecreation to implement plans.
- Conducts operational studies and makes recommendations for new services.
- Assists in management development and administration of the Recreation annual budget including but not limited to forecast of funds needed for staffing equipment materials and supplies.
- Prepares and presents reports regarding the overall operation of the Recreation Department to appropriate staff.
- Works closely with Chief Financial Officer and Tribal Accounting regarding all funds.
- Manages the appropriate staff including but not limited to general supervision annual and other applicable performance evaluations disciplinary procedures leave approvals timesheets etc. with applicable approval when necessary.
- Responsible for and maintains accurate and complete records of all assigned duties.
- Plans and directs the design and development of new activities/programs and improves/enhances existing facilities and programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate person.
Job Requirements- Bachelors Degree required. Masters Degree preferred.
- Two (2) years of employment experience working with youth and adults within the recreational field required.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience in monitoring or coordinating the activities of subordinated including general supervision performance evaluations disciplinary procedures leave approval timesheets etc. required.
- Two (2) years of working with budgets including required reports budget modifications etc. required.
- Two (2) years of employment experience in projects/contract administration required.
- Must possess First Aid Certification including CPR and Life Saving or obtain certification within ninety (90) days of official date of hire in this position.
- Must possess certification of Mandatory Reporter Training or obtain during the first week of employment.
- Must possess ServSafe Certification or obtain within thirty (30) days of employment.
- Ability to work odd and irregular hours as needed.
- Must possess a valid state drivers license and insurable driving record according to Tribal insurance guidelines.
- Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
- Ability to travel and participate in required training leadership development and other events.
- Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.

Compensation and Benefits- The starting pay will depend on factors such as experience level and skillset.
