Instructional Support Specialist EI/ECSE
Classification: Licensed 190 Day Calendar
Reports to: Early Intervention / Early Childhood Special Education Program Administrator
FLSA Status: Exempt
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Instructional Support Specialist positively impacts student achievement. They support train and coach classroom teachers home visitors and community partners in implementing our program approaches and curriculum. The Instructional Support Specialist is a nonevaluative support position for classroom teachers and other staff members in the coaching and modeling of effective teaching practices based on expectations and best practices for PreK learners. They facilitate professional development and collaboration for effective classroom instruction; oversee and coordinate associated data collection and reports; and assist Early Childhood staff using the data to plan effective instruction.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Special Education licensure from TSPC with Early Childhood Special Education endorsement or EI/ECSE Authorization from Oregon Department of Education.
2. Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
3. Demonstrated experience working in Early Intervention Early Childhood Special Education or Special Education.
4. Successful experience with Practice Based Coaching.
5. Experience implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and socialemotional teaching practices for preschoolers.
6. Successful facilitation of professional development.
7. Knowledge of special education process and law.
8. Ability to meet requirements of fingerprintbased criminal history record verification.
9. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the LBL Board of Directors/Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
GENERAL INFORMATION
This position has the following expectations and prerequisite abilities.

7. Ability to understand and follow oral and written directives find requested data and present in userfriendly formats for internal and public distribution.
8. Maintain regular attendance at work. Be punctual in meeting deadlines attending meetings and following schedules.
9. Utilize teleservice platform to provide services to educators students and district staff as directed.
10. Ability to lift carry at least 40 pounds.
11. Ability to sit for extended periods of time in a vehicle or work setting.
12. Ability to provide own transportation as deemed necessary.
13. Ability to provide services on a regular or itinerant basis in a variety of settings including schools family homes childcare sites ECSE classrooms and community preschools in assigned geographic regions.
14. Ability to sit on the floor and in a variety of positions or chairs such as preschool sized furniture.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Assist staff and community preschool partners in teaching planning developing and implementing appropriate curriculum and practices to realize success for all student learners.
2. Teach team teach and model/demonstrate instructional practices of student participation literacy engagement early literacy PreK skills and Social Emotional practices.
3. Support staff in developing best practices for differentiating instruction for all student learners.
4. Provide support to staff related to student behavior and developing behavior strategies and plans when needed.
5. Model and teach intervention services to students as needed.
6. Oversee collect and coordinate instructional data and reports for program growth and to submit to ODE and other state entities.
7. Collect analyze present and lead discussions about teaching practices and student learning data.
8. Observe classroom lessons and provide feedback to teachers and instructional assistants.
9. Support teachers home visitors and community partners to utilize Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports and other program curricula/practices .
10. Attend training meetings and collaborate with teachers specialists and administration.
11. Case manage and attend IFSP meetings for students as needed.
12. Work well within a team. Promote good staff morale and put team needs above individual needs.
