Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

We have a vacancy for a selfmotivatedQuantity Surveyorto assist in the delivery of our Dredging Professional Services Contract (PSC) and Ground Investigations (GI) Framework Contracts in England and Wales.
We have a busy and ambitious commercial function and are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to assist within our Commercial & Contracts Team in providing an independent expert resource to oversee the commercial aspects of contracts across the Trust. The Trust has a diverse and dynamic workforce and offers a great working culture. It carries out circa 7m on dredging 2m on PSC and 2m on GI.
The majority of these are delivered under the NEC3 and NEC4 ECC ECSC and PSC Forms of Contract through our Framework Suppliers for which this role will assist the delivery teams in their delivery as well as from time to time dealing with our inhouse delivery team and other contracts under various other forms of contract. We aim to ensure that the Trust ascertains value for money and to protect the Trust and individuals within it from adverse risk.
Location & coverage
Our QS will be offered on a remote working basis with a requirement to attend our main hub spaces as and when required for team working and collaborative throughout the regional waterway network will also be expected to enable site visits liaise with team members and to assess/conduct necessary improvements.
The allocation of hub will be based on your home location. Our current main hubs are: Leeds Ellesmere Port Burnley Newark Birmingham Hatton (Warwick) Milton Keynes Gloucester London.
The regularity & flexibility of travel will be discussed further at interview stage.
See our canal network here: ( Skills/Qualifications & Experience As our Quantity Surveyor you will be a selfmotivated individual engaged in providing a high standard of commercial expertise and support to deliver best commercial value from all Dredging PSC and GI contracts. You will also assist the Procurement Team with commercial support in the tendering process and assist in the carrying out commercial assessment of tenders and recommendations. You will report to a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the Commercial & Contracts Team. In this role you will support the Delivery Team ensuring that the Trust drives best value from its suppliers and manages risk in accordance with the Contract.
