Amazon is looking for a resultsoriented individual to join the AWS Infrastructure Energy Team. In this role you will support AWSs infrastructure expansion by leading multiple largescale power infrastructure projects across AWS regions with a focus on Latin America. You will manage utility interactions collaborate with internal stakeholders including engineering real estate and planning teams and manage relationships with external stakeholders such as utilities EPC vendors and/or Owners Engineer to deliver the electric infrastructure to serve AWS data centers and grow AWSs diverse reliable and lowcost energy supply. You will work as part of an integrated team to implement energy program requirements and deliver tangible reliability and cost saving results.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong energy and project management background that enables them to engage with both internal business partners and external energy stakeholders. They will have experience working with local utilities to develop contract and deliver MV and HV power infrastructure. They will demonstrate an ability to think strategically about our business and technical challenges and have a skillset to drive tactical execution of contracts energy initiatives and team goals.
Key job responsibilities
Deliver a portfolio of inflight MV and HV power infrastructure projects to interconnect AWS data centers to the electric grid.
Develop and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders including power utilities regulators suppliers EPC contractors and consultants to ensure ontime and onbudget MV & HV transmission works and substation delivery.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Planning Real Estate Design Procurement Construction Operations Finance and Commissioning teams to coordinate project activities and resolve any issues that may arise during project execution.
Manage capital budgets for electrical infrastructure and energy projects and identify and develop innovative costsavings projects and initiatives related to energy infrastructure and supply.
Provide regular project updates to senior management and stakeholders including progress reports financial updates region strategy documents and risk assessments.
Undertake power due diligence for new or proposed data center sites to check power availability and feasibility.
Work with utility regulators to develop policies and guidelines that enable broader AWS strategies and objectives

Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) required in Engineering/Business or other technical field.
5 years of experience working in utility/energy industry in a project engineering project management construction management or technical role.
2 years of experience developing and delivering Medium Voltage and/or High Voltage electric infrastructure projects in a technical planning or project management role.
Ability to manage complex and/or multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication strong organization time management and problemsolving skills capable of building strategic working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience in budgeting and analyzing cost/benefit tradeoffs across a strategic portfolio.
Fluent in English and Spanish
Experience in managing planning engineering developing and/or constructing substations or other 34.5 kV or greater energy infrastructure.
Experience working directly with power utilities and other energy regulators and negotiating new tariff rates and/or energy infrastructure contracts in regulatory regimes.
Experience managing large utilityscale projects work with various contractors/ subcontractors/ vendors/ thirdparty partners and personnel to deliver on schedule and on budget.
Ability to selfstart and selfmotivate in a dynamic environment with partial information and high levels of ambiguity which requires looking around corners to deliver results for the business.
Experience with IT infrastructure data centers and cloud services.
Fluent in Portuguese.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205500/year in our highest geographic market.
