WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Juneau International Airport (JIA) is looking for someone to fill our Accounting Technician II position someone who is detail oriented selfmotivated well organized and has reliable attendance as they are the backup person for the offices front desk. You should have good Excel and Word skills and be able to multitask. You should also have some accounting knowledge though a degree is not necessary.
DESCRIPTION OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
This position helps the Airport Manager with JIA customers accounts and with setting up Purchase Orders according to CBJ purchasing rules. It is also a backup for Notary services for City & Borough of Juneau notarizations and the front desk when the Administrative Assistant is not available.

WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION
This position works Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Your office would be located at Juneau International Airport.
Prepares and enters monthly journal entries; enters accounting information into the database; maintains accounting records.
Examines reports and accounts to identify inconsistencies and errors.
Researches business and financial information.
Assists the Airport Manager on lease agreements.
Produces budget and audit worksheets; prepares financial reports and statements for annual audit; conducts monthly audit of grant and contract revenues.
Recommends and implements procedural changes; answers nonroutine and/or sensitive inquiries; provides oral and/or written interpretations/procedures for unusual problems referred by Airport management.
Prepares project summary sheets drawdowns for projects and grants and accounting records for Airport contracts and grants for audits.
Establishes inventory levels and control; researches and recommends vendors and prices; problemsolves issues.
Assists Airport management in various administrative duties.
Other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or the equivalent.
Experience: One (1) year of any combination of jobrelated postsecondary education or technical experience in a jobrelated area that included reviewing evaluating and recording financial information.
Postsecondary Credit: Courses will be credited based on 3 semester/4 quarter hours 1 month of experience.
Substitutions:
Postsecondary education from an accredited college in any field will substitute for the required experience if it includes at least 6 semester/8 quarter hours in Accounting.
Or
Six (6) months as an Accounting Technician I position with the City and Borough of Juneau.
Applicant must document how relevant education and experience meets the above minimum qualification.
*Transcripts that indicate the credit hours earned for the specific course work will need to be included with the CBJ application.
Note for Airport Accounting Technician II position: Employment is contingent upon passing a TSArequired security check per 49 CFR 1542 and 1544 and Airport Security Program. This will require a federal fingerprint Criminal History Records Check and Security Threat Assessment Check. Continued employment is contingent on ability to maintain a favorable security check.
