Job Description

Job Description

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director Advocacy and Outreach the Assistant Director for Student Access to Community Resources advances initiatives to combat food and clothing insecurity while fostering equity and belonging throughout the campus community. Through oversight of programs such as the Red Hawk Food Pantry and Rockys Career Closet this position plays a pivotal role in addressing system barriers to student success. The Assistant Director leads with vision and innovation empowering students providing accessible basic needs resources and promoting a welcoming and healthy campus community. The Assistant Director leverages expertise in resource mobilization community partnerships and datadriven program evaluation to create meaningful sustainable impact.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee day to day management and operations of essential resource programs including the onsite food pantry professional career clothing closet. Maintain a safe secure and healthy work environment in both the food pantry and career closet.

  • Develop implement and evaluate programs such as meal plan donation clothing and food drives educational workshops and special projects addressing resource insecurity and emerging student needs.

  • Establish and implement policies and procedures for ordering product/goods inventory rotation and tracking distribution models promotional/awareness campaigns and services to students.

  • Develop and maintain systems for tracking program usage outcomes and trends to guide continuous improvement. Maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory requirements. Analyze and collect data to assess evaluate and communicate program impact and inform future strategies.

  • Establish and build partnerships and innovative collaborations with local regional and national organizations and external service providers. Conduct outreach campaigns to increase visibility and awareness in the community and facilitate relationship building with community leaders.

  • Supervise and mentor graduate assistants peer educators and student leaders. Oversee the hiring training and professional development of student workers and volunteers supporting essential resource programs.

  • Provide support and mentorship to student organizations engaged in special initiatives related to assigned areas.

  • Support office operations and programs including event logistics resource management and communication priorities.

  • Manage budget and financial processes within the financial management system including purchasing requisitioning receiving items among other tasks.

  • Collaborate with Advancement and donors to secure funding and inkind contributions. Assist in preparing grant proposals/reports to sustain and expand program resources and assist staff in the Office of the Dean of Students regarding social services entitlement programs and other resources and ad hoc projects to increase student access to resources.

  • Attend training and maintain certifications e.g. food handler certification etc.

  • Participate in professional development and represent the department division and University through forums conferences training seminars committees and campus or external activities.

  • Maintain integrity and appropriate confidentiality in University and program operations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelors degree from accredited college or university in Counseling Social Work Public Health Higher Education Administration or a related field.

  • A minimum of three years professional experience in college student activities resource advocacy community engagement or social services related work.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced highvolume environment managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.

  • Ability to work evenings weekends and occasional holidays.

PREFERRED:

  • Masters degree from an accredited college or university in Higher Education Administration or a related field.

  • Understanding of resource insecurity issues and best practices.

  • Broad knowledge of college student development student support tools and resources.

  • Experience implementing fundraising campaigns cultivating donor relationships and developing grant projects.
