Created in 2015 to align lighten and modernize infrastructure the Technology & Infrastructure (T&I) team is the backbone and the futureforward arm of CBC/RadioCanada. We are the people that make stuff work. We make connections between media content systems people and places. We are the space in between.

Today were transforming ourselves from a conventional radio and television broadcaster into a modern digital media company. Technology is the driving force and we are the team making it happen.

This role requires fulltime onsite presence.

Your role

You will be responsible for coordinating the use and ensuring the continuity of acquisition feed and communication resources for CBC/RadioCanada networks and external clients. You will distribute the signals of programs or program segments ensuring quality control.

More specifically you will communicate and interact with requesting partners and other support and maintenance groups; ensure the operational continuity of digital control room equipment and related tools; monitor audio/video feeds websites and digital apps operated by ICI and other Corporation services/partners; coordinate and perform webcast operations; and update scheduling information or other related documents. You may also be required to troubleshoot and operate the radio presentation booth and TV master control room.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

a) Qualifications:

  • Community college diploma in TV production techniques electronics computer science or other relevant field
  • Three or more years experience performing related duties

b) Skills:

  • Judgment initiative and proactive attitude
  • Problemsolving skills
  • Strong ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders; people and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of satellite terrestrial and IP transmission
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Bilingualism (English and French) an asset
  • Familiarity with a radio presentation booth and TV master control room an asset
  • Computer knowledge
  • Willingness to work on a rotating schedule (day evening and night shifts)
