Job Description

Amazon is looking for a Senior Vendor Manager to own highly strategic vendors in the dynamic Furniture business. Core responsibilities will include managing profitability optimizing our sourcing strategy and identifying growth strategies in an evolving landscape. The candidate should have experience in building strong relationships driving significant top and bottom line results and be comfortable managing multiple responsibilities within a fastpaced environment. They must have the leadership presence and communication skills to represent Amazon at executive levels. The candidate must also possess strong analytical acumen and be comfortable drawing metricbased conclusions by managing an extensive amount of data. This person needs to have a deep curiosity about how things work and a passion for creating a world class shopping experience for our customers. The right candidate stays on top of industry and competitive trends and is able to execute at both a tactical and strategic level to drive selection sales and margin growth while also improving our customer experience and education. In addition the Senior Vendor Manager must be an effective leader and communicator in working with Amazon internal groups such as instock management site merchandising marketing PR finance operations and retail systems.

A Senior Vendor Manager is an effective leader and communicator and a seasoned problemsolver. A successful candidate should be able to define and drive longterm objectives and strategy for the business. They will be responsible for managing comprehensive selection across multiple large brands developing collaborative marketing and promotions and driving sales and margin improvements. The ideal candidate has strong business judgment with a track record of successful negotiations and overall relationship management. Proven analytical thinking project management skills attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are musts.



Key job responsibilities
Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets by executing annual and ongoing vendor negotiations.
Have a thorough understanding of the industry business trends events and continually monitor both industry and competitor developments.
Maximize Amazons business and financial profitability through selection optimization and expansion opportunities.
Have an understanding of customer needs and use that knowledge to advocate for and drive delivery of improvements that provide Amazon customers with an unparalleled shopping experience.
Build vendor/brand relationships be the primary point of contact for vendor selection onboarding escalations and negotiations.
Coordinate across crossfunctional teams and communicate with internal and external stakeholders all while meeting tight deadlines.
Have a complete understanding (inclusive of the strategic context) of internal and external variables that impact your business. This includes owning forecasting analyzing understanding and reporting on the business.

5 years of account management project or program management or buying experience
Bachelors degree
Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL
Experience driving internal crossteam collaboration
Experience using data to influence business decisions
Experience with business analysis and P&L management

Experience driving direction and alignment with crossfunctional teams

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
