Central Elementary School Taber
Central Elementary School is an Early Learning to Grade 5 school. Our 25 staff provide service to approximately 240 students from the Town of Taber and surrounding area. Central School is a collaborative space where staff work with one another within a holistic studentfirst approach.
1.0 FTE Probationary (CASA) Child and Adolescent Services Assessment Teacher
Assignment includes grades 4 5 & 6 CASA Mental Health
Central School is seeking a fulltime CASA (Child and Adolescent Services Assessment) Classroom Teacher for the upcoming school year 2025/26. The CASA Classroom is a treatmentoriented program in partnership between the Government of Alberta community partners CASA and School Divisions. CASA Mental Health addresses the need to bring services closer to the student by bridging a students mental health and classroom needs. The CASA classroom teacher will work in collaboration with CASA staff as well as the staff at Central School providing differentiated instruction to grades 46 students all under a Social/Emotional lens.

Excellent relationships and interpersonal skills;
Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe supported and engaged
Strong communication skills;
Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform classroom instruction
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills;
A growth mindset and the ability to accept and apply feedback in order to improve practice
Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments (SIVA trained)
In addition to the expectations for all teachers the following skills and experiences are considered an asset:
Familiarity with Social Emotional Learning and Trauma Informed Practice;
Experience working with students diagnosed with mental health or socialemotional challenges;
Experience in a wide range of classrooms with diverse learning and regulation needs
Teacher education and experience specific to English Language Arts and Numeracy would be considered an asset.
Experience planning for and delivering adapted programming and differentiation.
This position will commence August 18th 2025 and conclude on June 30th 2026 .
