OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Senior Director Financial Planning & Strategic Analysis the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will play a critical role in informing strategic and financial decisionmaking within Year Up United. You will regularly partner with Regional Finance Directors and the National Finance team to support Year Up Uniteds Direct Service and National departments. You will serve as a key contributor to Year Up Uniteds annual budgeting and monthly forecast processes and you will provide analytical and strategic support on other key FP&A deliverables. In addition to producing timely and accurate financial reporting to monitor progress and ensure predictability you will also conduct ad hoc analyses into organizational trends and overall financial impact with an eye for elevating the quality of overall decisionmaking within the organization.
As a successful candidate you already have a solid understanding of financial principles and financial systems and you are looking to apply your skill set within an evolving and dynamic nonprofit. You are detailorientated and naturally analytical you excel at demonstrating logical thinking when gathering analyzing and presenting financial reporting and analysis. You feel empowered to raise and address systemsrelated questions and you feel empowered to seek out improvements to existing financial process. You are adept at prioritizing your workload and you can effectively navigate timesensitive and competing requests. You approach your responsibilities to your teammates and crossfunctional partners with a service mindset.
In keeping with Year Up Uniteds values the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will also have the opportunity to interact with students as a mentor group facilitator and advocate participating in building a positive educational environment.
This is a hybrid and location flexible role we are open to candidates living in any of the states in which Year Up United operates a strong preference for candidates located on the East Coast to align with team collaboration and working hours.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Provide analytical and strategic support on key FP&A deliverables (e.g. annual budgeting monthly forecast and quarterly board meeting preparation)
- Prepare and present variance analyses identifying historical trends and major drivers
- Conduct ad hoc analyses into organizational trends and overall financial impact related to student admissions pricing staffing and other operational variables
- Develop and maintain KPI reporting to track key metrics and organizational performance
Systems Management
- Maintain Adaptive functionality and data integrity through accurate tracking of GL codes site and department levels and other dimensions
- Partner with our Controller to support standard monthly imports from NetSuite and ADP to Adaptive
- Partner with IT to manage Adaptive integrations (both current and future) with other internal systems including NetSuite Workday ADP Tableau and Salesforce
Process Management
- Support internal Finance stakeholders in accordance with FP&A calendar to ensure timely delivery of key finance deliverables and reporting
- Facilitate improvements to existing FP&A reporting processes and methodologies to align with the changing needs of the organizations
Learning Community Member/Leader
- Support students in a Learning Community to create and sustain a positive educational environment fostering trust and collaboration among students faculty and site leaders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 3 years experience in accounting finance and/or FP&A; ideally including prior experience with forprofit or nonprofit enterprise organizations
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; ability to summarize detailed analyses into executivelevel presentations
- Prior experience supporting annual budgeting and forecast processes and preparing ad hoc analysis
- Working knowledge of GAAP accounting and financial principles
- Experience with Adaptive Workday ADP Salesforce and NetSuite or another general ledger accounting system preferred
- Exceptionally organized demonstrated resourcefulness and initiative with a can do attitude
- Excellent at workload prioritization resource management and project management
- Intellectually curious and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
- A passion for working with young adults and an unshakable belief in their potential

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Year Up United has established salary ranges for each of our sites which allows us to pay employees competitively equitably and consistently in different geographic markets. For roles in which the location is listed as flexible the range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
