Job Description
Part Time Public Service Officer City of Inverness
Citrus County Sheriffs Office
Pay Rate: $16.48/hour
General Description:Parttime position workingwithin the city limits of Inverness. Schedule primarily consists of day shifts Monday Friday alternating weeksfor a total of 40 hours biweekly. Schedule will be adjusted to assist in city related events occurring at nightand some holidays. Duties include handling calls for service investigating traffic crashes parking enforcement and crossing guard duties.
Essential Functions:
- Conducts parking enforcement
- Investigates traffic crashes and directs traffic around crashes congested areas and hazards
- Testifies at trials hearings and depositions
- All Citrus County Sheriffs Office employees are considered essential emergency workers and are subject to working in any capacity/hours deemed necessary by the Agency during activations including but not limited to inCounty and outofCounty deployments
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use a 2way radio
- Ability to read interpret and follow procedural and policy manuals
- Working knowledge of computer software programs and Microsoft Office
Education Experience and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Applicants must successfully complete the Public Service Officer training program and an approved traffic crash investigation course
Physical Demands:
- Requires long periods of sitting standing walking speaking reaching twisting and turning daily
- Hearing acuity
- Near and far vision
Requirements:
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States
- Valid Florida Drivers License
