Are you a driven leader with a passion for safety solving unique challenges driving efficiency and operational excellence We are seeking a Terminal Manager for our LaPorte TX distribution terminal who will be accountable for the safe reliable and costeffective operation of the facility. This individual will oversee all distribution terminal activities including equipment maintenance support. This role is a key member of the South Subregion Operations Leadership team and as such is instrumental in establishing and promoting a culture focused on safety environmental compliance and inclusivity.


The LaPorte Terminal is in a suburban community in the Metro Houston TX area. The terminal is one of the largest and most complex terminals in the Air Products system. The terminal works closely with Air Products LaPorte Operations and delivers liquid oxygen (LOX) liquid nitrogen (LIN) liquid argon (LAR) liquid hydrogen (LHY) gaseous hydrogen and gaseous carbon monoxide to customers primarily in the southeast U.S.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • A track record of success in distribution terminal management including key aspects of safety environmental compliance quality and employee engagement.
  • A strong commitment to employee involvement team building and diversity.
  • High degree of knowledge of DOT OSHA and Hazmat regulations.
  • Familiar with preventative maintenance programs.
  • A track record in driving continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with office staff drivers customers and AP leadership.
  • A selfstarter with proven leadership abilities to lead and influence direct reports as well as ability to lead by influence.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage environmental health and safety (EHS) plans for the site including the development of safety talk/safety meeting materials monthly site inspections coordination of Top 10 Customer Site improvement plans and daily walk around Good Catches.
  • Manage and lead the distribution terminal team to ensure safety is paramount and reliable ontime delivery of our products is achieved.
  • Work with the Line Manager and AP Fleet Maintenance team to develop strategic plans for the LaPorte terminal distribution equipment and ensure capital investments and maintenance costs are well managed. Manage drivers hours of service in accordance with company policies and Federal/State regulations.
  • Collaborate on daily schedule details from AP Central Logistics to ensure continuous product supply by managing daily driver availability and coordination with maintenance staff to provide distribution equipment resources necessary.
  • Manage third party contractor support as needed for the daily delivery schedule in times of major logistical challenges as directed by regional management (i.e. major plant outages shutdowns etc.).
  • Daily review of location and driver work hours availability with Logistic planners to prevent driver fatigue.
  • Daily oversight and analysis of previous days completed trips ensuring driver compliance with routing and customer supply levels meet demand requirements.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in the distribution field.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a supervisory/leadership role.
  • A valid drivers license and a good driving record are required. Commercial driving experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to travel about 10% of the time.
