DescriptionSummary
- Supports the functions of the Genetics Clinic by performing a variety of administrative tasks and working collaboratively with Genetic Counselors and other team members.
- Serves as one of the first points of contact for patients by conducting family history phone calls and constructing pedigrees.
- Prepares patient charts for upcoming appointments including procuring relevant personal medical and family history records completing test requisition forms.
- Contacts patients after appointments to obtain any followup information.
- Contacts insurance companies to facilitate genetic testing coverage.
- Assists with creation of accurate patientcentered education materials.
- Enters patient and clinical data into clinic databases.
- Maintains pertinent clinical records.
- Tracks patients genetic testing process and results.
- Serves as the point of contact for genetic testing laboratories/vendors for clinical updates billing policies and issues coordinating meetings with the Genetics Team.
- Maintains confidentiality.
Schedule
- Fulltime 80 hours per two weeks Onsite
- Daytime shifts between the hours of 8:00AM and 5:00PM

Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in biological/health sciences required
- Or (if no such degree) a minimum of five years of experience in a clinical setting administrative and scheduling experience required
- Basic knowledge of genetic concepts and terminology with interest in genetics and genetic counseling.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals both over the phone and in person.
- Ability to interact sensitively with patients.
- Excellent organization customer service and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work efficiently both in a team environment and independently.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Previous experience working in a healthcare setting strongly preferred.
