The Compliance Manager will oversee the Data Compliance Risk and HIPAA Programs. The Compliance Manager will create and manage programs that help the organization stay within legal and ethical boundaries. The Compliance Manager will conduct site rounds analyze operational data work closely with teams to evaluate clinical operations and identify any potential inefficiencies or risk and develop strategies to mitigate them. The Compliance Manager will act as the Compliance Officer and will investigate any potential HIPAA violations and report as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Health Sciences Business Healthcare Administration Health Information Management Management Engineering or related field required or the equivalent work experience
o Three or more years of related office management experience preferred
Extensive knowledge of EPIC and database testing including designing and manipulating test data validating stored jobs and error replication. Epic reporting skills preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to create test plans and cases from specifications or verbal communications
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills writing and oral communication skills necessary
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software office equipment personal computers and word processing
Working Conditions:
Lifting up to 50 lbs with or without an accommodation
Carry up to 20 lbs occasionally
Sitting 12 hours at a time (810 hours a day)
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Standing 12 hours at a time (810 hours a day)
Walking approx. 30 minutes per hour throughout the day
Withstanding pressure and deals with emergency situations as needed
Average working hours with possible nontraditional hours
Normal coordination and/or visual attention to connection with the standard flow of work
Repetitive movements of the hands wrists and fingers; good visual acuity (with or without correction)
Potential for exposure to blood and body fluids
Ability to deal with disgruntled patients in order to deescalate the situation
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Displays skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients medical staff leadership team and the public

Demonstrates knowledge of statistics data collection analysis and data presentation
Fosters an environment that promotes trust and cooperation among all staff at MVHC
Adheres to all MVHCs policies and procedures fully cooperating with the MVHC Compliance Program
Facilitate and monitor data collections pertaining to incident reports peer review and Quality Measures. The position will track trends and work with administration and directors to coordinate timelines for appropriate tasks need to achieve compliance
Converts data into useable information (identify the data necessary to establish the baseline and measure the change data gathering presentation interpretation and analysis including both descriptive and inferential statistical analysis)
Develops and implements systems policies and procedures for the identification collection and analysis of performance measurement data
Educates and trains all staff on the Continuous Quality Improvement Process (CQIP) and their respective responsibilities in carrying out the CQIP activities
Serves on various QIrelated committees as a resource and facilitator of these activities
Transmit to appropriate parties records of all quality improvement activities
Maintain familiarity with the requirements for HRSA including the FTCA annual deeming process
Acts as Compliance Officer and works with the administration and directors to coordinate timelines for completion of appropriate tasks needed to achieve compliance
Reviews and revises the risk management plan and all risk management policies on an annual basis
Conducts monthly Corporate Compliance Committee meetings to review all incident reports environmental and surveillance rounds OSHA HIPAA and infection control compliance for process improvement to ensure a safe riskfree environment for all employees and patients
Develops statistical and qualitative reports on risk management trends and patterns and communicates this information effectively to appropriate audiences
Maintains an updated database for policies and procedures
Collects and summarizes performance data identifies opportunities for improvement and presents findings to Board of Directors
Quality Measure Performance
o UDS Reporting
o Population health management using pop health tools like Azara Clinisync and collaboration with valuebased care team
o QI project initiation and management through Data Governance
o Direct and lead quarterly improvement committee meetings
o Governmental program monitoring and management
Identify grant opportunities and assist in completion process
Meet with managed cares to discuss opportunities of collaboration and alignment amongst organizational goals and quality measure performance
Grant Reporting AdHoc Reporting Valuebased care Reporting Organizational Scorecard
Continuous monitoring and management of governmental programs
o FTCA
o PCMH
o HRSA
Conduct quarterly risk assessments and annual program review
Incident Report tracking and analyzation
Negotiate new managed care contracts
Collaborate with credentialing and billing
Development of master file for consistent contract management
Develop new provider orientation packet
Investigate potential HIPAA concerns
Adherence the reporting requirements of HIPAA violations to HHS
Provide training and education to new and existing employees
Performs other duties as assigned
